Mandeville winsa close one

With Mandeville down by one, Josh Priola drove in and dished off to Brandon Weeden, who scored the game-winning layup with three seconds left in a 58-57 victory over West Jefferson in Tuesday’s game held at West Jefferson.

The Skippers are 10-6 this season.

Weeden led the Skippers with 20 points, while Jordane Ganapamo tallied 15. Chad Alfaro scored 13 points and Zach Adema registered eight points.

St. Paul’s comes back to beat Tara

St. Paul’s School erased a 28-8 deficit and beat Tara High, 63-49, in a game held Monday at SPS. The Wolves, who outscored Tara, 37-14, in the second half, improved to 9-6, while Tara fell to 5-9.

SPS’ Derek Arnold led the Wolves with 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Morgan Wells added 14 points, 11 in the second half.

Jeffrey Coote registered 10 points and three steals. SPS hit 14-of-15 free throws.

FHS falls

to Woodlawn

Fontainebleau’s Lady Bulldogs suffered a 59-33-road loss to Woodlawn in a non-district game held Monday. FHS is 8-8 this season. Jennifer Beehler led FHS with 10 points, while Danielle Revon scored nine points.

SSA defeats Fontainebleau

St. Scholastica Academy’s Doves knocked off the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs, 45-33, last Friday in district action held at FHS. SSA (9-6) is 2-0 in district play. Fontainebleau slipped to 0-2 in district competition.

SSA’s Sarah Bagley scored a game-high 14 points, while Monique Giarrusso tallied 10.

Jennifer Beehler topped FHS with 13 points, while Anna Ribbeck posted nine.
