Covington blanks Pope John Paul II

Covington’s Lions shutout Pope John Paul II, 2-0, in a non-district match held Monday at Jack Salter Stadium.

The match was scoreless at halftime, but in the 45th minute, Chris Cassaday received a pass from Luke Baudean and made it 1-0.

CHS added another goal as Alan Didier registered an unassisted tally in the 60th minute to finalize the scoring at 2-0.

Covington’s top defender was Stephen Baudean, while PJP’s top defender was Tyler Lusignan.
