Scott Mayer By St. Tammany NewsSt. Paul’s senior soccer player Scott Mayer serves as a tri-captain for the Wolves selected by his teammates. Mayer has netted three goals with four assists helping SPS to a 10-4-1 record. St. Paul’s head soccer coach Trevor Watkins said Mayer is respected by his teammates. “Scott is viewed as a leader by his teammates, thus they selected him as a team captain. Watkins described Mayer as a threatening player. “Scott is energetic and gives the opponent fits with his quickness. He is an offensive catalyst for us,” Watkins said. “He makes things happen. He makes things dangerous for the opposing team. He typically is one of our leading scorers, but this season he hasn’t had much of an opportunity to do that,” Watkins added. Mayer described himself as a dedicated soccer player. “I really enjoy playing the game. I’m quick being able to use my speed down the line. I don’t have the best touch, but I manage,” Mayer said. “As a team captain, I do my best to bring leadership to the team.” What do you enjoy most about playing soccer?
