Covington downs Slidell
Covington’s Lions defeated the Slidell Tigers, 7-2, in a district match held Wednesday at CHS. Covington (10-5-1) was 3-4 in district at Friday’s press time, while SHS (1-7-1) was 0-7.

Didier was named the Lions’ top defender.
Both of Slidell’s goals came in the second half from Taylor Erminger. One was on a penalty kick and the other was unassisted.
Logan Rebaldo was named the Tigers top defender.

SHS’ Collier nets hat trick in win
Slidell’s Julie Collier scored a hat trick and tallied two assists, helping the Lady Tigers beat Covington, 5-0, in a district match held Wednesday at CHS. Slidell (4-5) was 2-5 at Friday’s press time.
Priscilla Collier scored two goals for SHS, while dishing out an assist.
Whitney McCabe was named the Lady Tigers top defender.
Pearl River beats East Jefferson
Pearl River’s Kim Treese scored both of her team’s goals in a 2-1 victory over East Jefferson in district action held Wednesday at PRHS.
Treese’s first tally was unassisted and came in the 40th minute to give Pearl River a 1-0 lead. In the 50th minute, Treese scored her second goal on an assist from Mary Beth Ohlenforst.
The Lady Warriors got on the board in the 54th minute.
Robin Smith was named Pearl River’s top defender.
Northshore blanks Ponchatoula
Northshore’s Sarah Bonura scored two goals in a 3-0 shutout over Ponchatoula in Wednesday’s district match at NHS. The Lady Panthers (6-3) were 4-3 in district play at Friday’s press time.
Bonura’s first goal gave NHS a 1-0 lead. It came from 25-yards out in the 32nd minute and was unassisted. In the 52nd minute, Leland Emory took a pass from Kaela Perissutti and scored to make it 2-0. Bonura tallied the final netter in the 60th minute on a Bonura assist.
Goalkeeper Chloe Castro posted her third shutout of district. Lindsey Dixon was named the Lady Panthers’ top defender.
