Slidell’s Bianca Navarre nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, helping the Lady Tigers beat St. Scholastica Academy, 64-46, in a district game held Tuesday at SSA. Slidell (12-6) is 3-2 in district play, while the Doves (11-11) slipped to 2-3.

Lillian McAbee scored 17 points, while Kameron Lacoste, who hit three treys in the first half, poured in 15. Jennifer Ducre recorded seven and Katrina Littlepage added six.

SSA’s Kayleigh Chiasson had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Allison Dastugue added eight.

Pearl River tops Franklinton

Pearl River’s Lady Rebels topped Franklinton, 72-34, in the district opener Tuesday at PRHS. Pearl River is 12-8. Missy Pichon led the Lady Rebels with 16 points, while Caitlyn Harper and Kyra Washington each finished with 14. Katie Guido tallied eight and Katie Wallace along with Gabby Jeansonne both chipped in with six.

Pope John Paul II comes up short

Pope John Paul II’s Lady Jaguars nearly erased a 15-point third-quarter deficit, but fell to Pine, 42-41, in a district-road game Tuesday despite Shelly Pontiff’s double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and she added eight steals. PJP (8-11) is 2-3 in district play.

Ashley Allen scored nine points and four rebounds. Christa Roscigno tallied eight points and three rebounds.

Hannan falls

to Varnado

Archbishop Hannan’s Lady Hawks were defeated by the Varnado Lady Wildcats 58-15 Tuesday in District 7-1A play at Varnado. Hannan junior guard Kimmy Kirsch finished with 10 of the Lady Hawks’ 15 points. Hannan (3-7) fell to 0-4 in district action. The Lady Hawks host Kentwood today.

St. Scholastica falls to Hammond

St. Scholastica Academy suffered an 84-64 loss to Hammond despite Elly Schoen’s 20 points last Friday in a district game at Hammond.

Kayleigh Chiasson scored 18 points for SSA, while Carly Keller added 13.
