Beginning Saturday morning at the Covington Farmer’s Market until late Saturday night, Covington will be alive with activities.

Spring for Art will feature new exhibits, gallery openings, tax free original art work, demonstrations, shopping, dining and live music on North Columbia Street, Boston Street, Lee Lane and North New Hampshire Street from 6-9 p.m.

From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Farmer’s Market on the lawn of the old City Hall on North Columbia Street will be a hive of activity with wares from local farms.

In addition, the Covington Food Bank will be kicking off its “Plant a Row for the Hungry” program.

Covington Food Bank spokesperson Paula Souhlas is encouraging everyone to plant a row of food in their gardens and dedicate the harvest to the Food Bank to fight hunger.

The first row will be planted Saturday next to the Covington Police Department on the corner of North Columbia and Theard streets.

Art at the Park, the art fundraiser featuring student artists from Christ Episcopal School, will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Christwood Boulevard campus in Covington.

Then at 2 p.m., a concert by the Covington High School Jazz Band will take place on the lawn of the Covington Branch Library, 310 West 21st Ave.
