Columbia Street Block Party, 6:30-9:30 p.m., downtown Covington. The parties are open to the public and free.

Marvels of the Marsh, 5 p.m., Fontainebleau State Park. Participants will walk along the Sugar Mill Nature Trail to the Alligator Marsh Boardwalk to examine the uniqueness of the brackish marsh. Participants can collect fish and other marine life with a scoop net, which will be identified by the site ranger and then released. For more information, call 624-4130.

Primitive Woodworking, 11 a.m. to 3p.m., Fontainebleau State Park. This demonstration program features the use of a froe for splitting wood and the use of a shaving horse and drawknives to make wooden objects such as spoons and tool handles. For more information call 624-4130.
