Slidell Airport searching for vendors for air show benefit

Published on Friday, May 29, 2009 9:17 AM CDT

The Slidell Municipal Airport is now taking applications for vendors who want to serve food at the Slidell Air Show on Oct. 17. The air show, which will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year, has crowds of 10,000 people looking for the best food and drinks around.

“We are encouraging all charitable organizations in the area to apply for a vendor position at the Slidell Air Show,” says Felicia Carpenter, the administrative secretary at the airport. “Not only is this a great way for charitable organizations to get exposure, but it gives them the opportunity to raise money for their great causes.”

All food vendors interested in participating must be able to service a crowd of approximately 10,000 people and must provide their own trailer, equipment and supplies. Applicants must provide the airport with their electrical and water requirements. All charitable organizations must be able to provide the airport with documentation showing their 501(c) status. Anyone meeting those requirements is eligible to apply to be a food vendor at the Slidell Air Show.

For more information about applying for a vendor’s position, please call Felicia Carpenter at the Slidell Municipal Airport at 641-7590. All applications must be postmarked no later than June 25 in order to qualify.
