Hurricane preparedness meeting planned in Slidell

Slidell Chief of Police Freddy Drennan is hosting the annual Public Hurricane Preparedness meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium on Second Street.

The public will hear from city and parish officials on how they have prepared to respond to hurricanes. Besides Drennan and Slidell Mayor Ben Morris, representatives from the Sheriff’s Office, Troop L of the Louisiana State Police, National Weather Service, St. Tammany Office of Emergency Preparedness, all local hospitals, Cleco Power Co., and Acadian Ambulance Service will all talk and tell residents what they need to know in case of a hurricane.

Drennan said residents will have the opportunity to ask questions of all the speakers about preparing for a hurricane.
