Marjorie Mae Mendel Reed, 74, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of Gerald E. Reed Jr.; mother of Gerald E. Reed III (Nancy), Michael Lawrence Reed (Paula), Christopher Peyton Reed (Patricia), Stacy Reed Rome (Brent) and Lauren Reed Spencer (Curtis); and sister of Lawrence and Allen Mendel. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Reed was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for more than 50 years. The funeral Mass was held Tuesday at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington. Interment will be held at a later date in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to CASA/Youth Service Bureau, 430 N.
