The First annual Mandeville Seafood Festival/ Firecracker Fun Run took place Friday July 3 with nearly 300 runners and walkers participating at Fontainebleau State Park. Runner’s Choice and City Soccer presented the event with all proceeds benefitting KidSense and other local charities in the community.

KidSense is a Mandeville non-profit project that builds unique playgrounds for children with autism, ADHD and their classmates.

Mike Dugger, owner of Runners Choice and race coordinator, said the Fun Run generated approximately $5,000 to benefit local charities.

“It was a great turnout for the first annual event. It was a big success, which will enable us to help members in the community,” Dugger said. “The weather was perfect. It was a sunny morning and it was a picturesque course through Fontainebleau State Park.”
