Mandeville men arrested for trying to steal video game using BB gun

Four Mandeville men were arrested last week after they used a BB gun to try a steal another man’s Playstation video game.

According the Mandeville Police, four men knocked on the door at 1827 Monroe Street, asking for a cigarette,

When the resident would not allow the men in his home, one of the men reportedly pushed his way inside.

The resident was able to scare the men off by using a knife, but reported to police that as they ran away, one of the men brandished what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at the resident.

When police arrived the victim and a neighbor, who had witnessed the event, were able to identify the four men involved and arrests were made.

The alleged firearm, which turned out to be a BB gun, was recovered.

Harrison Vaughn, 18, 3385 Montgomery St., Mandeville; Kevin Scott, 19, 620 Kleber St., Mandeville; Darryl Anthony, 18, 522 Lambert St., Mandeville; and John Anthony, also of 522 Lambert St., Mandeville, were charged with aggravated burglary. Darryl Anthony was also charged with aggravated assault, and John Anthony was charged with simple battery.

It was when police interviewed the men following their arrests that they found out the four were allegedly trying to steal the victim’s Playstation video game.
