Millsaps College inducted four new members into its Hall of Fame Saturday in MeMe Soho Leonard, Michele Biegel, Nathan Guice and Wes Ingram. Hourman “Cowboy” Skinner was the Sam Knox Distinguished Service Award Winner.

A blocked punt, two interceptions, and two fumbles led to touchdowns by Northlake Christian School’s Wolverines in a 43-8 blowout over the Pine Raiders Thursday night on a rainy evening in Pine. Six turnovers by the Raiders erased any chance for Pine to make the contest competitive.

Pope John Paul II suffers loss to Springfield
Throughout the 2009 season, Pope John Paul II’s effectiveness running the football has reliably indicated the magnitude of their overall success in any given game. Unfortunately for the Jaguars, this did not hold true against Springfield (5-3, 2-1) Friday at Lester Latino Jaguar Field. Despite a superb effort from senior running back Tyler Lusignan, who ran for 195 yards and two touchdowns, PJP fell 41-21 and was unable to contain the Bulldogs’ potent passing attack.
