I-59 ramp

closed Tuesday

The Department of Transportation Development will close the southbound ramp of Interstate 59 at U.S. Highway 11 and Louisiana Highway 1090 from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday for construction. If the weather does not cooperate, the ramp will be closed to traffic Wednesday.

The DOTD suggest motorists use Exit 5A off I-59 to Louisiana Highway 41 to Louisiana Highway 3081 and go south to U.S. 11.

MPD foundation meeting set

The board of the Greater Mandeville Police Foundation will hold a meeting Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at 1580 W. Causeway Blvd. Suite 2.

Stefancik to hold District 11 meeting

The monthly meeting of District 11 constituents and Parish Councilman Steve Stefancik will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the library of the Bayou Woods Elementary School off Central Road. The councilman will discuss approval of the 2010 parish budget, an ordinance for capital projects, the proposed ordinance on the contract with Acadian Ambulance, the $45 million bond issue, an ordinance on de-annexation of certain property in Slidell, the proposal to consolidate all fire departments into one department, plus any other issue residents want to discuss. Burkhalter to hold District 14 meeting

Parish Councilman Ken Burkhalter will hold a District 14 community meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Tammany Junior High School library, 701 Cleveland Ave., Slidell.

Special guests will be state Rep. Greg Cromer, state Rep. Kevin Pearson and Sen. A.G. Crowe. Representatives from Parish Environmental Services and Public Works will also be present.
