Published on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:44 AM CDT

The Friends of the Slidell Library will hold their quarterly used book sale Nov. 13-14 at the Slidell branch library in the branch library meeting room.

On Nov. 13, the member’s only preview sale will be held from 5-8 p.m. Only members may select and purchase books on Fridays, but as always, memberships are for sale or renewal at the door. Annual memberships cost $5 for individuals and $8 for families. Payment in the form of cash or personal checks will be accepted.

The public sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14. Book prices will range from 50 cents for mass market paperbacks and children’s books to $1 for trade paperback and hardcover books.

All magazines will sell for 10 cents each. The contents of this sale will include a wide variety of titles of interest to children, teens and adults.

The Friends’ used book sales, silent auctions, and other special sale events help raise funds to purchased items for the Slidell branch library. Recent purchases include the engraved labels for the Herb Garden on the grounds of the branch and equipment for juvenile and teen programs.

Volunteers are always needed to assist in book sales. To volunteer for the sale or to obtain more information regarding FSL’ membership, contact Kitty Hagan, President, at 639-0096 or e-mail her at fsl70458@yahoo.com.

The Slidell branch library is located at 555 Robert Blvd.
