Some streets to close for Slidell Arts Evening

In preparation for Arts Evening 2008 in Olde Towne Slidell this Saturday, the city will close down certain streets from 3-9 p.m. Saturday.

Erlanger, Bouscaren, Cousin and Robert streets will be closed from Front to Second streets. First Street from Fremaux to Robert Street will be closed as well as Second Street from Robert to Erlanger. Finally Carey Street will be closed to traffic from Robert to Cousin streets.

Arts Evening is one of the biggest cultural festivals on the Northshore. There will be more than 100 artists displaying their works from 40 different locations throughout Olde Towne. There will also be live entertainment from 21 different bands and performers, great food, and antique and boutique shopping.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
