Doris Miller Nelsen was taken to her eternal home, through Jesus, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Louis E. Nelsen Jr.; mother of Louis E. Nelsen III, John Nelsen, Judith Cantrell, Robert Nelsen and the late Paul Eugene Nelsen; mother-in-law of Donna, Tammy and Robin Nelsen and Russell Cantrell; sister of the late Leonard Miller and Blanche Miller Farmer. She had an extended family of 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one nephew, one niece, and several cousins.

“Pat,” as she was also known, was a native of Wichita, Kan. She was a former resident of Harahan and a resident of Covington for the past 20 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1905 Louisiana Highway 59, Mandeville, tomorrow at 11 a.m. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment is in Garden of Memories, Metairie. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st.
