Dorothy Robinson Alba, 77, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of Adrian T. Alba; mother of Deborah A. Mecom, Jeanne A. Schmidt, Adrian T. Alba, Jr., Charles G. Alba, Thomas J. Alba and Gary A. Alba; daughter of the late Guy and Josephine Schexnaildre Robinson; sister of the late Guy, Marion, Ronald and Emmett Robinson, Gloria R. Michler and Betty R. Fleming. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a native of New Orleans, a former longtime resident of Metairie and a resident of Mandeville for the past year.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at noon Saturday at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121. A special thank you to the second and fifth floor nurses at Lakeview Regional and the staff and nurses at the Wynwood Living Center, St. Catherine Hospice and Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
