String quartet to perform in Sunday Concert Series

The Third Sunday Concert Series at Christ Episcopal Church in Covington will present a performance by The Tri-State String Quartet on Nov. 15 at 5 p.m.

Members of the quartet are Slava Rudnitzky, violin I; Gabriel Platica, violin II; Amelia Clingman, viola; and Dimitri Vychko, cello. They will perform works of Mozart and Prokofieff.               

This and all concerts in the Third Sunday series are free, open to the public, and followed by a reception where the audience can meet the performers. The series is supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
