Photography Club names Photographer of the Month Slidell Photography Club has selected Warren Lassabe as Photographer of the Month, for the month of November. He is native of Mississippi who moved to Louisiana in 1975. He remembers standing in his Gulf Coast home as a youngster holding the family Kodak Brownie camera. Unbeknownst to him at the time that he would develop such a strong interest in photography. Still having that Brownie camera would now be such a prized memorabilia. Photography was always something that came natural to Warren and his passion for photography has continued to grow throughout the years. From the high school photography club to shooting his Pentax 35mm and two Yashika box cameras in Germany – a camera was always a required companion. Warren was a member of other photography clubs in Europe and across the United States. He is retiree from a national financial institution. As a retiree, he now finally has the time he always wanted to devote to his photography and photoshop. His photography of choice these days is portrait photography. He has transformed from film to modern digital. He currently uses a Nikon FX and has an assortment of glass lenses. And yes, he still has the old cameras from those days that he proudly displays in his home. Warren loves to dabble with the use of Photoshop on his photographs. His image, “The Real Thing” will be on display at the St. Tammany Parish Public Library, Slidell branch on Robert Boulevard, throughout the month of November. One day when his great grandchildren point to this image and ask about it, he will be able to reply, “That is what a real car once looked like.” |
