NCS goes 3-1 in ESA Spooktacular

Northlake Christian School’s Lady Wolverines went 3-1 in the Episcopal School of Acadiana Spooktacular held in Lafayette Oct. 30-31. NCS dropped its first game to Notre Dame 25-12, 25-22 on Friday. Hannah Miranda netted eight assists with five digs, four kills and an ace. Monica Raymond delivered four kills, four digs and an ace, while Emily Miller contributed six digs and one kill.

Mary Wilson contributed four assists, two digs and an ace and Allie McLain added five digs. NCS came back Saturday to defeat Sam Houston 25-13, 25-17 behind Miranda’s 10 kills, 10 assists, five aces, five digs and two blocks. Miller netted nine digs, two kills and two aces, while Wilson had 10 assists with three digs and McLain chipped in with nine digs. NCS topped Episcopal of Baton Rouge 25-6, 25-13 led by Raymond’s 11 kills and 11 digs.

McLain pulled up 11 digs and served five aces. Miranda recorded six digs with five kills and a block. Miller downed four kills with an ace, while Molly Boyer came through with four kills, one ace and a block. Angela Barrios registered three aces with two digs and Wilson finished with six digs and an ace.

The Lady Wolverines closed out defeating Dunham 25-8, 25-22 with Miranda passing off for 19 assists, 10 digs, seven kills and a block. Boyer stepped up with eight kills, four digs and a block. Wilson pulled up eight digs and had seven assists. Raymond had seven digs and knocked down six kills. Miller came through with six digs, three kills and an ace. McLain tallied eight digs for the Lady Wolverines, while Barrios came up with three digs, two aces and a kill.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
