Fontainebleau High falls to
Mt. Carmel in semifinal match

In Friday’s semifinal match, the Mt. Carmel Academy Cubs (39-5) got past the Fontainbleau Lady Bulldogs (44-3), 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-16.

Mt. Carmel’s victory was the third time the Cubs have defeated Fontainebleau this season.

Mt. Carmel’s Taylor Vanderwerff and Victoria Boraski both ripped 18 kills. Kaylynn Genemaras generated 28 assists. Megan O’Neill delivered 11 blocks, and Alex Pfefferle contributed 26 digs.

FHS’ Jessica Guttierrez blasted 15 kills, and Delaney Pittari added 10. Senior Michelle Cabeceiras tallied 40 assists, while Kaitlyn Auxilien pulled up 25 digs. Sarah Ulm totaled five blocks.

At press time, Mt. Carmel, the No. 2 seed, was scheduled to meet St. Joseph’s Academy, the No. 1 seed, yesterday in the championship match.
