FHS sweeps St. Amant in regionals
Fontainebleau (43-2), the No. 3 seed, swept the St. Amant Lady Gators 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 Tuesday in the regional round at the Kennel to advance to the Pontchartrain Center. At press time, the Lady Bulldogs, last year’s state runner up in Division I, were scheduled to meet their cross-town rival Mandeville Lady Skippers, yesterday in the quarterfinals.

St. Paul’s pounds Destrehan in bi-district
St. Paul’s Wolves (10-1), the No. seven seed, used a big second half to roll post the Destrehan Wildcats 35-14 Friday night in the bi-district round at Hunter Stadium. St. Paul’s junior quarterback Alec Duncan passed for 246 yards with two touchdowns completing nine of 13 passes including clicking on his last seven attempts. Wolves’ junior defensive back Stephen Smith picked off three passes and junior linebacker Tyler Tourelle recovered two fumbles to help secure the victory.

FHS tops rival MHS in state quarterfinals
Fontainebleau’s Lady Bulldogs squared off with cross-town district rival Mandeville Lady Skippers Thursday in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. The Lady Bulldogs swept the Lady Skippers 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 behind a balanced hitting attack with Haley Bonneval generating 13 kills, Jessica Guttierrez 12 and Delaney Pittari with 10. Michelle Cabeceiras netted 38 assists. Caitlyn Auxilien spearheaded the defense with 20 digs, while Guttierrez registered three blocks. Bonneval and Morgan Todd served two aces each for the Lady Dawgs.
