Edmond Dale Curtis, 77, of Slidell, a security guard for Vincent Guard, died Nov. 2, 2009, at his home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW Post 185 at St. Ann Place and the First Baptist Church of Slidell.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Pinkard Curtis of Slidell; son, Eddie Dale Curtis and wife Bobbie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughters, Pamela Gaye Curtis of Murfreesboro and Patricia Joyce Curtis of Slidell; sister, Hope Jenkins Collett of Jackson, Miss.; grandchildren, Jeremy Dale Curtis, James Preston Curtis and Daniel Brian Curtis; and great-grandchildren, Preston Davis Curtis, Neely Joy Curtis and Weston Dale Curtis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Eli and Velma White Curtis, and brother, Percy White Curtis.

Funeral services were held Nov. 6 at Jordan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Hunt officiating. Interment was in the Smyrna Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Smyrna Cemetery Fund.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
