Ellen Agnes Ruetz Even passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington at the age of 85. Ellen was a native of Racine, Wis.

After graduating from Mount St. Mary’s College she moved to New Orleans to pursue a career as a lab technician at Charity Hospital. While there, she met Charles Even Jr. and they were married soon after. In 1951, they relocated to Folsom, where they farmed until retiring and eventually moved to Mandeville in 2005.

She was the mother of Joan Goff, James Even, Michael Even, Matthew Even, Mary Legere and Rebecca Leek; daughter of the late Ione Kurten and Clarence Ruetz; sister of Russell Ruetz, Gerald Ruetz and the late James Ruetz, Philip Ruetz, and Roland Ruetz. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held yesterday at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, Covington. Interment was in Eternal Rest Cemetery. To view and sign the family guest book, visit www.bagnellfuneralhome.com.
