FONTAN

Joseph Bernard Fontan Jr. passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at the age of 79. Joe was a lifelong resident of Covington.

He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Maureen Woodings Fontan; father of Elaine Lemons (Paul), Glen Fontan, Scott Fontan and the late Bruce Fontan; son of the late Marguerite Becker Fontan and Joseph B. Fontan Sr.; and brother of Donald G. Fontan and Betty Gayle Huval. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years prior to returning to Covington to join the family business, Fontan Becker Building Specialties. He was a volunteer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time.
