SSA sixth-year head coach Chris Pool said he was proud of his team’s effort.
“It was awesome for the girls to win the state title. Given the conditions, the course was pretty wet and muddy along with being windy, which made it tough on the runners. Based on the difficult conditions most of the times were a minute or more off what our runners have posted during the regular season,” Pool said.
“There were some great individual efforts because we were sitting in second place through probably the first two miles of the race. They showed a tremendous amount of heart and determination,” Pool added.
