St. Martin’s blanks NCS

St. Martin’s Saints blanked the Northlake Christian School Wolverines 1-0 on senior Brian Flint’s goal in the 60th minute assisted by Paul Freeze Monday at the CYSA field in Covington.

St. Martin’s (2-0) earned the shutout with Jonathen Waters in net and Patrick Fox was named the Saints’ top defender.

NCS (1-2) battled to a scoreless first half before giving up the lone goal midway through the second half.

Mallery Mele was named the Wolverines’ top defender, while sophomore goalkeeper Jeffrey George was credited with six saves.

NCS blanks Lusher

Northlake Christian School’s Wolverines blanked Lusher Charter School 5-0 Thursday in New Orleans.

Danny Haar, Zac Smith, Chad Broussard, Cole Shorter and Zander St. Pierre tallied one goal each to spark the Wolverines to victory, while Mallery Mele was credited with four assists.

NCS had a 3-0 halftime lead. Goalkeeper Jeffrey George netted the shutout and Sam Beck was named the Wolverines’ top defender.
