LadySkippers win Bayou Winter Classic
The Mandeville Lady Skippers captured the tournament championship of the Central Lafourche Bayou Winter Classic on Sunday. The Lady Skippers finished the tournament with a 5-0 record winning three bracket games on a wet and sloppy field on Saturday to advance to the semi-finals.

Colts gearing up for South Carolina trip
The Northshore Colts 13-year-old traveling football team, which features athletes from Covington, Madisonville, Mandeville and Slidell are off to a great start. The Colts finished last year’s season with a 13-2 record. The Colts beat every all-star team in the surrounding parishes and held their opponents scoreless for 29 straight quarters. The Colts have been invited to participate in the O-D National Championship games held in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Colts, the Southeast Regional Champions from last year and third at Nationals, is the only team from Louisiana invited to play in the event. The National Championship will be televised on January 2, 2010. The players are working hard in hopes of bringing the championship trophy back to Louisiana.
