St. Tammany Parish Hospital announces Rachel Sauné, CPC, has earned her certified professional coder credential after successfully passing the national certification examination offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders.

The CPC credential demonstrates broad encompassing knowledge and expertise in reviewing and assigning the correct coding of physician and hospital outpatient services, procedures and diagnoses for medical claims.

Sauné is the charge master analyst in the STPH patient financial services department. She has worked at STPH since 2002. She has an associate degree in business management from Southeastern Louisiana University and is also a certified patient accounting technician.

Sauné lives in Covington.

The AAPC was founded in 1988 in an effort to elevate the standards of medical coding by providing certification, ongoing education, networking and recognition.

It is the nation’s largest medical coding certification body with more than 62,000 credentialed coders.  AAPC’s certifications allow medical coders, billers and other healthcare professionals to demonstrate superior knowledge and expertise of current outpatient medical coding principles and validate their proficiency in coding accurately and efficiently.
