Northlake Christian advances to regionals

Northlake Christian School’s sophomore Brelynn Witty tallied the game-winner on a penalty kick to carry the Lady Wolverines to a 5-4 bi-district round victory over Louis McGehee Friday night. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation play, which forced two 10-minute overtimes, two 5-minute golden goals followed by the penalty kick.

No. 17 seeded NCS advances to the regional round against No. 1 seeded Sacred Heart. The match is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Pan American Stadium. Look for a complete game story in Wednesday, Feb. 10 edition.
