A St. Paul’s football player and two other teenagers were arrested last week on aggravated rape charges.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Stephen Smith, a 18-year-old junior and defensive back on the St. Paul’s football team; Joshua Burris, a 17-year-old from Folsom; and an unidentified 16-year-old, Wednesday on aggravated rape charges.

Smith gave his address as 31330 Carolyn Lane, Lacombe. Buras told authorities that he lived in Folsom but could not provide anything beyond a post office box for his address.

George Bonnett, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said the teens are charged with raping a 14-year-old Covington girl on Jan. 11.

He said the three teens were arrested after the girl’s mother reported the rape to deputies. No further details about the alleged crime is being released as it is still being investigated.

Smith and Burris were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail and as of Friday each were still being held on a $200,000 bond.

The 16-year-old, whose name is not being released because of his age, was booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
