With only two days to go until the Saints play the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, there will be several places in St. Tammany Parish where Who Dats can go today to show their support for the boys in black and gold.

The biggest rally will be the Who Dat Nation Pep Rally from 4-9 p.m. at the Northshore Harbor Center in Slidell. The rally is sponsored by Brian Harris Autoplex, the Northshore Harbor Center, and WWL radio.

The founding father of the Who Dat Nation, former Saints quarterback Bobby “The Cajun Cannon” Hebert will be there broadcasting live on WWL radio along with his radio partner Deke Bellavia. Hebert will be there to answer fans’ questions and analyze the upcoming Big Game, as well as stir up the crowds.

Jack Francioni, manager of Brian Harris Autoplex urges everyone to go come out dressed in their best Saints’ gear, and also to bring out their signs to wave during the pep rally. There will be a contest for “Best Dressed Who Dat Fan as well as a contest for the “Best Who Dat Sign.” Prizes donated by the Silver Slipper Casino, Nathan’s Restaurant, Geaux for the Gold and the Purple Armadillo will be awarded to the best examples of the Who Dat Nation.

Besides the cheering, there will be lots of second lining around the Harbor Center, and people can dance to the music provided by Rock-It Productions and Dave Newman and Band One.

There will also be food and drink vendors as well as various booths set up with Saints’ memorabilia.

Admission is free. However, the rally sponsors are asking people to donate at the door to the Fleur-de-lis Relief Fund that is collecting money to help with relief efforts in Haiti. Francioni said that 100 percent of the donations would go to food, water and medicine for the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Several schools in the parish will be cranking up the old team spirit today also. At 1 p.m. the students at Salmen High will gather to root for the Saints. However, this pep rally will be for Salmen students only. Students who donate $2 to the Haitian relief will be able to attend the rally. There will be drink and food student vendors who will also donate their proceeds to the earthquake victims.

At 1:30 p.m. Students at St. Paul’s in Covington will hold their Super Bowl Pep Rally, and then at 2:30 p.m., Covington Elementary will hold their own Saints pep rally. Students and teachers will be dressed in their Saints gear, and some of the faculty will be having tailgate parties.

So if you are itching to get all that excitement that has been building for the past two weeks, go out there today and yell for the Saints to win the Super Bowl.

Tomorrow, the celebration and team spirit continues as the North Shore Square mall sponsors its Black and Gold Pep Rally from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in their center court. There will be a Biggest Saint Fan contest with registration for the competitors is from 11 a.m. to noon. There will also be free giveaways, a Mini-Madden NFL Tournament, a Kids Football Experience, face painting and a Black and Gold cash machine giving away prizes of up to $1,000 gift cards.
