Boys’ soccer bi-district playoffs upcoming

Boys’ playoff soccer gets underway this weekend with seven Northshore teams entering the fray to battle for the ultimate state championship in their respective divisions.

St. Paul’s (18-4), No. 3 seed and District 7-I co-district champions with Fontainebleau, host the No. 30 seed South Lafourche Tarpons. At press time the game was tentatively scheduled for tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Hunter Stadium.

Fontainebleau’s Bulldogs, the No. 8 seed is hosting a home game against the No. 25 seed Grace King Fighting Irish. FHS (15-6-2), which shared the district title with St. Paul’s, ended the regular season on a six-game winning streak.

Mandeville (17-7-1), the No. 14 seed, will host the No. 19 Byrd Yellow Jackets Saturday night at 7 o’clock. Due to weather conditions, the MHS-Byrd contest will be played at Lakeshore High School on the turf field. Byrd finished the season with a 10-7-5 record and was 4-4 in district play finishing in third place.

Northshore, the No. 15 seed is at home in the first round, hosting the No. 18 seed St. Amant Gators. The game is scheduled for tomorrow at 6 p.m.

In Division II, the Pearl River Rebels, the No. 13 seed, will host the No. 20 seeded, Leesville Wampus Cats.

In Division III, the Northlake Christian School Wolverines (10-10-3), co-district champs and the No. 8 seed, hosts Redemptorist, the No. 25 seed. At press time, the date and time were not available. Pope John Paul II Jaguars (7-10-2), the No. 23 seed, travels to Runnels, the No. 10 seed. Game time is scheduled for tomorrow at 3:30.

Pearl River is playing tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Lakeshore.
