Williams reportedly pointed a handgun at the men and demanded money.
After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect then walked to the front door of the residence, where he knocked on the door.
When the homeowner answered the door Williams reportedly pointed the gun at him and again demanded money. A struggle ensued and Williams pistol-whipped the homeowner. As the two fought over the weapon, it discharged.
The suspect was able to obtain some cash from the homeowner, who then ran from the residence in an attempt to find help.
Meanwhile, the suspect, who is believed to be Williams, approached the homeowner’s girlfriend, who had been sleeping on the couch and attempted to get more money from her.
When she failed to provide him with any money, the suspect fled the residence and left in a 2008 blue Chevrolet Impala.
The man who owns that vehicle and was driving it at the time, 18-year-old Jeremy Davenport of 72123 Mill Road, Abita Springs, heard deputies were looking for him and turned himself in Monday morning. He was charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery and was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
Anyone who has information about Williams’ whereabouts is asked to call the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Office at 898-2340.
