A 13-year-old was arrested after he stabbed another 13-year-old with a pen at Mandeville Junior High School.

Mandeville Police were called to the school at approximately 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a fight.

Eric Gulino, spokesman for the department, said one of the students used an ink pen to stab another boy twice in his upper right arm and once in his left arm. He said the fight appears to have resulted at the culmination of several verbal encounters between the two boys over a period of several days.

The victim’s injuries appeared to be minor in nature, and he was released into the custody of his parents.

The other teen’s parents were also notified. He was charged with aggravated battery and transported to the Florida Parish Correctional Facility.
