Roy Peter Labourdette Sr., 82, of Slidell, entered into eternal life Sunday, March 14, 2010.

He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Domangue Labourdette; son of the late Alma Ford Labourdette and Joseph A. Labourdette; father of Roy P. Labourdette Jr., Dawn Labourdette Barberio, Owen M. Labourdette and Eric C. Labourdette; father-in-law of Kim Killebrew Labourdette, Edmund T. Barberio, Lizeth Betancourt Labourdette and Tammy Nick Labourdette and brother of Dr. Leo A. Labourdette and the late Lois Labourdette Bossier. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell. He was a retired court reporter for the Civil District Court in New Orleans.

LABOURDETTE

A funeral Mass was held yesterday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church Slidell with Monsingeur Lanoux Rareshide, as celebrant. Interment was in St. Roch No. 2 Cemetery, New Orleans. Masses preferred. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell.

MARTIN

Rigley Lawson Martin Sr., 92, of Covington, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Mack Martin; six daughters, Thema Ricks (Bobby) of Chicago; Betty Bezue of Los Angeles; Maeola Dunklin (Robert) of Albion, Mich., Gaynel Perry (Milton) of Covington; Patricia McElroy (Joseph) of Orlando, Fla., and Cynthia Ratcliff, (Reginald) of Baton Rouge; two sons, James Martin (Lilia) of Covington and Earl Martin Lanham M.D.; sister Lydia Daniels of Covington; 31 grandchildren, 68 great-granchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, 20207 Highway 36, Covington. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Bethel Reform Methodist Church, 602 W. 29th Ave., Covington. The Rev. Wesley R. Cyprian Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in the Wilson Cemetery.

MAXWELL

Arthur Allen Maxwell Jr., 66, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Audra Maxwell; granddaughters, Victoria and Hailey Maxwell; sister-in-law, Malinda Maxwell; and niece, Leah Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Cecilia Zimmerman Maxwell; his father, Arthur Allen Maxwell Sr.; son, Greg Maxwell; and brothers, Conrad and David Maxwell.

He was native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville for the past eight years.

SCHMIDERER

Helen “Peaches,” “Mimi” Gallardo Schmiderer, 78, of Slidell, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Albert Joseph Schmiderer; mother of Albert. J. Jr., Alan Roy and the late Adolph Von Schmiderer; sister of Joseph, Martin Gallardo, the late Phen Arviola, Juanita McDaniel, Chockie Gallardo and Barbara Krup. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Michael and Dawn Schmiderer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at noon today Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W., (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation is on Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m., and today from 9 a.m. to funeral time. Interment is in Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

SELLMAN

Molly Erickson Sellman passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born in Wilmar, Minn., Dec. 10, 1937, she was the beloved wife of Ronald G. Sellman; the devoted mother of Ann Harper (Grady) of Covington and Eric Sellman of Baton Rouge; sister of Sally Askelson of Irvine, Calif. and grandmother of Hayden and Ellie Harper of Covington. Molly was the daughter of the late William Jennings Erickson and Marjorie James Erickson of Wilmar, Minn.

She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and an avid alumnus of her Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Residing in Mandeville with her husband of 48 years, she also enjoyed fond memories of her family’s time spent living in Baton Rouge. Molly brought joy and laughter to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a memorial service noon tomorrow at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville.
