Why do we wash bath towels? Aren’t we clean when we use them?

The First Annual Pastel Exhibition presented by the St. Tammany Pastel Society will be held tomorrow. It takes place in the Slidell Memorial Hospital Atrium and is open to the public from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Refreshments will be served.

Friends of the Arts will present “The Final Curtain Call,” a tribute to the many cultural events presented throughout the history of the Slidell Municipal Auditorium, tomorrow night from 7-10 p.m.

Included will be a display of memorabilia of the events, culinary creations by restaurateur/chef John Besh, entertainment by the Ronnie Kole Trio with special guest John Perkins, an exotic bar, and more.

Admission is free with your Friends of the Arts charter membership of $50 or more, which will be available at the door.

The Slidell Municipal Auditorium will be closing its doors at the end of the month.

The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation’s annual luncheon will be held this coming Monday at Benedict’s Plantation. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program starts at noon.

STEDF Executive Director Brenda Reine Bertus will present an overview of the Fourth Quarter 2009 Economic Trends Report, and the featured guest speaker will be Michael Olivier, CEO of the Louisiana Committee of 100 for Economic Development.

The cost is $30 per person and seating is limited. Reservations can be made by calling 809-7874.
