Ralph R. “Jack” Spilmann, 81, of Slidell, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at his home in Slidell. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Spilmann; father of Robert J. Spilmann, Jackie Dupont and husband Gerard, Jr., Robin Zeringue and husband Stanley, Richard R. Spilmann and wife Dawna and James J. Spilmann; son of the late Ralph and Mary Spilmann and brother of Alberta Cramer and Lawrence and Bobby Spilmann and the late Joseph, Geraldine and Gary Spilmann. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since the 1950’s, Mr. Spilmann was a retired locomotive engineer for the New Orleans Public Belt for 44 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and after his retirement he was a volunteer at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W., (in Forest Lawn Cemetery) Slidell, and from 11 a.m. to funeral time at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Honaker Funeral Home Inc., Slidell.
