FHS defeats Mandeville

Fontainebleau’s lady Bulldogs defeated the Mandeville Lady Skippers 6-1 Monday at home in a game rescheduled from March 11. FHS (10-4) improved to 3-1 in district at press time, while MHS (13-7) also stood at 3-1. Fontainebleau took a 1-0 lead in the first and pushed across five runs in the sixth. Mandeville tallied its lone run in the seventh.

FHS’ Kendyl Stevenson (6-3) earned the victory tossing a complete-game five-hitter. Stevenson and Brooke Thomas both collected two hits for the Lady Dawgs and drove in a run each. MHS’ Gabby McDaniel (13-7) took the loss for the Lady Skippers scattering eight hits. Mandeville’s Laurie Esquinance had a hit and drove in the Lady Skippers’ only run.

Pearl River downs Franklinton

Pearl River’s Katie Hebert pitched a two hitter with 17 strikeouts and one walk, helping her club down the Franklinton Lady Demons 6-1 in a district home game held Monday. Pearl River (6-8) was 3-1 at press time. The contest was a makeup from last Thursday.

Hebert, who allowed no earned runs, helped herself at the plate, going 2-4 with two runs batted in. Abbey Maillet posted two hits and one RBI, while Shayna Pippen logged a hit and drove in two. Shelby Walker totaled a hit and a run batted in.

Archbishop Hannan blanked by Dominican

Archbishop Hannan fell to Dominican 4-0 at home on Monday. Hannan’s Dallas Hebert (8-1) suffered her first loss scattering four hits allowing four runs (one earned). Kim Kirsch, Brooke Laigast and Kimberly Nilsson were the only Lady Hawks’ batters to collect a hit. Hannan stands at 14-3.
