Longhorns come back to win World Series
Playing in their final tournament together, the Slidell Bantam Baseball Association Longhorns All-Stars 14U team came back from a 5-0 deficit and took home the United States Specialty Sports Association World Series held July 6-11 at Pelican Park.

Mandeville High incoming junior Elise Bradley racked up another victory winning the 45th annual Louisiana Women’s Golf Association Junior Girls State Championship title last week played at the Oak Wing Golf and Country Club in Alexandria. It was Bradley’s second consecutive victory after winning the LWGA State Amateur championship June 19-23.

Northlake Christian School announced the hiring of Ricky Porter Tuesday to replace Rowland Skinner as the Wolverines’ new head baseball coach. Skinner was named the Mandeville High Skippers head baseball coach on Tuesday after leading the Wolverines to two consecutive state titles.
