St. Paul’s graduate Casey D’Angelo will attend Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.

The 6-foot-1, 250-pound offensive guard was a three-year starter for the Wolves. He was a District 7-5A First Team player and was named to the Clarion Herald All-Elite Team. He was also a First Team Class 5A Coaches Selection All-State and also received First Team Class 5A Louisiana Sports Writers All-State recognition. D’Angelo said he was impressed with Mississippi College from the very first phone call he received during the recruiting process.

“I just felt very comfortable with them. I went up for a visit and they definitely made me feel at home. I saw me being able to be part of that team and school. I think I will fit in well with their program and their type of offense,” D’Angelo said.

“I loved the staff and the facilities. I hope to battle for a starting position,” D’Angelo added.

D’Angelo said he considered walking on at Southern Miss in Hattiesburg. He also considered attending Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., along with Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. St. Paul’s head coach Ken Sears said D’Angelo came through with a fantastic senior season.

“Casey is a hard worker. He is a really smart football player and is totally dedicated. I’m sure those attributes will work well for him at Mississippi College as he continues his playing career at the next level,” Sears said.

“We’ll miss his ability as a quality offensive lineman and team leader. We wish him the best,” Sears added.

D’Angelo said his favorite high school subject was physics and he graduated with a 3.1 grade point average. He plans on majoring in physical therapy.

Casey is the son of Donnie and Angie D’Angelo of Madisonville.
