Recreation District No. 11 of St. Tammany Parish (Abita Springs-Waldheim area) is now accepting applications for a full time Recreation Director. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours. This position is responsible for all athletic programs, recreational activities and passive recreational parks within the District boundaries. Responsibilities include: knowledge of all sports offered in the District, scheduling of all athletic events, recruitment of coaches and children for programs, working with volunteers, knowledge and maintenance of parks and playground facilities. Applicant must have a minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited college or 5 years minimum of management experience and two years of recreation experience, or six years of recreational supervisory experience, good communication skills, submit to a background check, possess a valid driver’s license and be drug free.
